Project Overview
This food ordering app is a comprehensive restaurant technology platform built for the Indonesian market, designed to connect restaurants with their customers seamlessly. It's a complete dining ecosystem covering both sides of the restaurant experience: customers ordering and paying on their mobile devices, and restaurants managing menus, processing orders, applying promotions, and handling payments from a dedicated restaurant-side interface.
Infynno Solutions built the food ordering app as a cross-platform Flutter application - a single codebase delivering a polished native experience on both iOS and Android for customers, alongside a restaurant-facing order processing and management interface. The platform covers the full dining lifecycle: menu discovery, customization, ordering, coupons and rewards, payment, order processing, and receipt printing.
The challenge they faced
Building a restaurant technology platform serving both customers and operators simultaneously required solving opposite workflows, complex menu customization, real-time order sync, promotional logic, loyalty rewards, Indonesian payment integration, and receipt printing - all in one cohesive product.
Two-Sided Product With Opposite Workflows
Customers want a fast, intuitive ordering experience while restaurant operators need a reliable, real-time processing interface. Both sides had to feel purpose-built for their user - not like one was bolted onto the other.
Highly Customizable Menu Architecture
Restaurant menus have variants, add-ons, optional extras, and availability windows. Building a system flexible enough for every restaurant's configuration - while keeping the customer ordering flow simple - required careful data modeling.
Real-Time Order Processing
When a customer places an order, the restaurant needs to see it immediately. Status updates - accepted, preparing, ready - must reflect in real time on the customer side, without delays or inconsistencies between the two apps.
Coupon, Discount & Voucher Management
Promotional mechanics are complex: percentage discounts, fixed reductions, minimum order thresholds, single-use and multi-use codes, expiry dates, and item-level vs. order-level application - all critical to customer trust and restaurant margin protection.
Reward System Design
A loyalty reward system needs to feel genuinely valuable to customers while remaining manageable for restaurant operators - with points accrual, redemption rules, balance tracking, and expiry logic working seamlessly within the ordering and payment flow.
Payment Integration in the Indonesian Market
Indonesia has a diverse payment landscape. Integrating a locally relevant payment gateway handling the methods Indonesian diners actually use - while keeping checkout fast and trustworthy - required market-specific payment infrastructure.
Receipt Printing for Restaurant Operations
Restaurant operators need physical kitchen and customer receipts. Supporting print functionality from a mobile app - connecting to Bluetooth or network-connected printers - added a hardware integration layer on top of the software product.
How we solved it
Flutter Cross-Platform Architecture
We chose Flutter to deliver a single, maintainable codebase producing native-quality experiences on iOS and Android - for both the customer app and restaurant interface - with a polished, brand-consistent UI without duplicating development effort.
Flexible Menu Customization Engine
We built a menu architecture supporting dish variants, required and optional add-ons, modifier groups with min/max selection rules, and availability controls - fully configurable from the restaurant side, translated into a clean guided selection experience for customers.
Real-Time Order Lifecycle Management
Order placement triggers an immediate restaurant notification. Restaurants process orders through a clear status workflow - new, accepted, preparing, ready - with each update reflected in real time on the customer's tracking screen, handling concurrent orders without conflicts.
Coupon & Discount Voucher System
We built a promotions engine supporting percentage-based and fixed discounts, minimum order thresholds, single-use and multi-use codes, item-level and order-level application, and expiry management - with clear checkout validation feedback for customers.
Reward Points System
The loyalty engine accrues reward points on qualifying orders based on configurable earn rates. Customers track balances in-app and redeem at checkout, with redemption rules, minimum thresholds, and points expiry configurable at the restaurant or platform level.
Payment Gateway Integration
We integrated a locally relevant Indonesian payment gateway supporting the payment methods diners actually use - with a checkout flow optimized for speed and trust, and clear status feedback throughout.
Print Receipt Support
We implemented receipt printing for restaurant operators, enabling connection to Bluetooth and network-connected printers directly from the Flutter app - formatted for both customer-facing and kitchen use with full order details and applied discounts.
